Anesthesiology Legislative Events

Several UMMC anesthesiology faculty and residents attended, including Dr. Claude Brunson, Dr. Latoya Mason-Bolden and Dr. Jim Rabalais.

Doctors from across the state have the unique opportunity to serve as the designated “Doc of the Day” at the capitol. Recently, two of our attending physicians were able to serve in this capacity.

In that capacity, Dr. Robertson and Dr. Bolden were available to provide emergency medical treatment to lawmakers and critical staff.

Dr. Brunson and Dr. Mason-Bolden were among a handful of anesthesiologists invited to attend a reception honoring Dr. Jerome Adams, our nation's 20th surgeon general. Dr. Adams is the first anesthesiologist to serve our nation in this role. The event was in Washington, DC at the Fairmont Hotel on the evening of Jan. 13.
